Meet The Team
Elizabeth joined our team as a receptionist and auxiliary nurse in 2002, and now works at our Troon branch as our practice manager. She has two cats called Tara and Lacey, and is a keen cyclist and gardener. She also enjoys reading and walking in her free time.
Mara Carla Artuffo Binning
Clinical DirectorDVM MRCVD PhD
Mara graduated in Italy in 1990 and continued her education with a PhD in oncology at Glasgow University Veterinary School. She has joined our practice in July as a clinical director after she left a similar position in Glasgow. Mara has a high interest in dental treatment, exotic animals and pain management. Outside work she enjoys walking, swimming, skiingand hanging around with her horse Bruce.
Senior Veterinary SurgeonBVMS MRCVS
Susan graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2004. She originally joined the practice in August 2022 as a locum vet, she became a permanent vet in January 2023.
She has a keen interest in internal medicine, chronic pain management and treating rabbits and other small furry animals.
Outside work she enjoys spending time with her border collies Ginny and Freya (look out for them in the practice!) and continuing her adventures with her horse Carmin.
Megan graduated in 1991 from Murdoch University in Western Australia. After a long career in Emergency Medicine and hospital care, she has decided swap night shift for daylight hours in Troon. Megan hopes that the change will enable her to expand her interest in preventative medicine and client education.
Aleksandra qualified from Poland in 2010 and has been working in small animal practices since then.
She moved to Scotland in 2018, she joined our practice in July 2023.
She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and different challenges this job comes with. She has a keen interest in internal medicine and diagnostic imaging.
In her free time she loves to admire the Scottish landscape and scenery during hill walking and cycling.
Katie joined our team in 2020 and has since developed a keen interest in feline behaviour, pain management, physiotherapy and arthritis treatments. She has an array of pets at home, including two horses, two Labradors and a cat. In her own time, she enjoys horse riding, competing in local shows and walking her dogs with her mum.
Jacquie joined us on a work placement while completing her animal nursing auxiliary training in 2009, and is now fully qualified and in charge of training our future veterinary nurses.
Katie joined our team in 2022. Although still has final exam to complete to become registered, she has completed all the training to be a vet nurse at SRUC Barony. Katie has a rabbit of her own and loves caring for all animals.
Maureen splits her time working at our Irvine and Troon branches. She has a working cocker spaniel called Rocky and two cats Olli and Lew, and has a passion for cycling, walking, history and genealogy.
Christine joined the team in 2021 after 30 years spent working in administration and customer service. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, going to the gym, walking on the beach and spending time with her grandchildren and family dog Max.
Kelsey joined the team in 2022 after previously working in various customer service roles. She is a recent graduate from the University of Glasgow, with an MA degree in English Literature/English Language & Linguistics. As well as being a huge animal lover, she enjoys reading, writing and cooking.
She's also the mum of 8-year old tortoiseshell cat called Cookie, who enjoys bird watching and snoozing anywhere except her own bed.
