Diagnostics and laser therapy

Additional tests are often necessary to determine exactly what condition is affecting your pet.

We have several diagnostic facilities at our clinics to enable us not just to get the most accurate and detailed diagnosis for your pet, but also to develop the correct treatment plan, especially with complicated diseases.

In-house laboratory

Our bloodwork and urine testing machines can often help us reach a diagnosis without the need for an external laboratory.

This means that we often have answers on the same day, and enables us to routinely monitor for any effectiveness of treatment or side effects of long term medications or where medical conditions can change over time.

Radiology

X-rays have long been used to diagnose injuries, as well as conditions like lung disease and some cancers.

Our digital x-ray machine means that we can get clear images swiftly and share them with referral centres easily if a specialist opinion is required.

Ultrasound

There are some conditions that require ultrasound examination, such as early-stage pregnancy and uterine issues, but as the technology has developed so has its uses.

We have a high resolution ultrasound machine with doppler, allowing us to identify and assess conditions like heart disease accurately.

Laser therapy

MLS Laser Therapy can support the treatment of a vast array of conditions, and is reported to be beneficial in cases of arthritis, skin disorders, as well as others.

In surgical cases, the use of laser therapy is reported to help reduce pain and improve healing, meaning your pet recovers faster.

The treatment is non-invasive and well tolerated, so in most cases your pet can be treated as an outpatient. It may be covered by your pet’s insurance.
